2004 Establishment of Guangxi Dongfang Foreign Language College, the predecessor of our University, as a private higher vocational education college that was authorised by the MOE to provide junior college diploma programmes.
2011 The school education qualification of Guangxi Dongfang Foreign Language College was enhanced and it was upgraded to a regular undergraduate higher education institution that was authorised by the MOE to provide bachelor’s degree programmes in addition to junior college diploma programmes. Guangxi Dongfang Foreign Language College was renamed as Guangxi University of Foreign Languages.
2014 Our Thai language, international economy and trading, broadcasting and Hosting, and administrative management majors were recognised as Provincial Level Higher Education Institution Key Majors by the Education Department of Guangxi.The Education Department of Guangxi approved our University to commence construction of our Konggang Campus.
2015 Our University was recognised by the Guangxi Association for NonGovernment Education as a leading private higher education institution in Guangxi.
2017 Our University was awarded the Special Prize and the 3rd Prize for Guangxi Provincial Level Higher Education Teaching Achievement by the Education Department of Guangxi.
2018 Our University was recognised by the Guangxi Committee Organisation Department of the Chinese Communist Party, Guangxi Non-Government Economic Association and the Workers’ Committee of the Society Association of the Chinese Communist Party as a demonstration unit of the Party’s development works in Guangxi.Our Thai language and English language majors were recognised as Provincial Level Higher Education Institution Key Majors by the Education Department of Guangxi.We ranked fifth nationally in the 2018 Top 300 China Private Higher Education Institution with International Competitiveness Rankings published by Jingling New International.
